An Excerpt Featuring the Realm Rebel…

on May 19, 2014

Hi All!  I’m back from New Orleans and will post about the RT Convention soon, but for now, I thought it’d be fun to have an excerpt from TAMED.  I love that Realm Rebel!

Tamed (eBook)TAMED excerpt:

The woman looked small, fragile, and definitely kissable.

Caleb turned and pressed her against the worn brick building, startled yet again by the delicacy of Lily’s petite frame. He stood at least a foot and a half taller, but the woman had such a presence he often forgot her stature. Slowly, he slid his hand up to cup her chin. Curiosity and need glimmered in the depths of her mysterious eyes.

Even so, he allowed several seconds to pass in case she wanted to move away.

She didn’t twitch.

Her chin held a delicate stubbornness that tempted him far more than he’d ever admit. Would she still taste like strawberries?

He lowered his head, giving her plenty of time to stop him. His lips met hers, and heat slid through his veins. The rightness of the connection clicked somewhere deep inside him.

Then she sighed, and his head spun.

He pressed harder, his tongue sweeping inside her mouth.

Dark_Protectors_LOGO-01Fire, need, and strawberries became the center of his world. The leash he constantly kept on himself snapped. He stepped into her, his body caging her, his erection brushing against her warmth.

He tangled his hand in her silky hair, tethering her, taking all he could.

She sighed and kissed him back, a soft sound of surrender emerging with her breath.

Fisting her hair, he angled her so he could go deeper, invading her mouth. Possessive and fierce, he wanted all of her.

At the simple words, a rush of energy burst through Caleb with more force than an angry storm. Lily Sotheby, the woman he’d wanted for centuries, had just said yes. The untouchable just became touchable.

He strode toward the bedroom before she could change her mind. Oh, if she did, he’d let her go. But he’d probably combust at that point.

At least he wouldn’t have to be a prophet any longer if he exploded. His lips twitched.

Intrigue filled her eyes as a slight smile curved her lips. “What’s amusing you?”

He glanced down, his chest hitching at her open smile. “The last time I felt this desperate for a woman, I was young—barely an adult.”

She hummed and ran a soft hand across his chest. “Lucky woman.”

He started, his heart beating hard enough she had to be able to feel it. “It was you, Lil. You’re the only woman I’ve ever wanted badly enough to burn.”

Tempted Releases Today!

on March 27, 2012

Hi all! I’m still enjoying the very nice weather in Maui but wanted to take a moment and celebrate Tempted’s Release. YAY! I’ve been waiting for Max’s story to be available since turning it in last September.

The first chapter is actually a prologue where it shows the first time Max met little Janie and agreed to be her bodyguard.  This was entirely off the path he’d chosen to go hunt Kurjans.

Then the book starts with Max having to hunt down feisty Sarah Pringle, a teacher who’d been unfairly sent to an insane hospital because she saw a Kurjan and nobody would believe her.  Of course, Max may have an ulterior motive for seeking out Sarah…

Here are the ‘buy links’ in case you’re interested.  Tempted is an e-novella (Currently priced at $2.99) that you can download to any of your e-readers OR your computer.  I hope you enjoy!

A Spicy Nocturne Cravings Novella from Mina Khan!

on October 19, 2011

Happy Wednesday to you all!  I talked my good friend Mina into guest blogging for me today and talking about her amazing novella, THE DJINN’S DILEMMA.  Yeah, I’ve read it!  And it rocks!

Hi everyone! Thanks Rebecca, for inviting me to your blog! It’s such an honor to be here.  Rebecca was a beta reader for my paranormal erotic novella, THE DJINN’S DILEMMA (coming out Nov. 1 — WooHoo!), and helped me make my story the best it could be.
We all have different definitions of what makes a good story. To me a successful story comes from the writer’s heart and touches readers’ hearts. A good story communicates and transforms, creates an invisible, but real bond.
When I go through my keeper shelf and look at my favorite books, the ones I have read and re-read over and over – they all tell a good story. They make me laugh and cry. They have broken my heart, and made me believe love triumphs all.
My hero, the half-djinn/half-human assassin, Rukh O’ Shay was amazing to write. He is mysterious and sinfully seductive, with a dark past and a wry sense of humor. He’s literally made me laugh out loud, sigh and swoon, and even cry as I have typed his story onto the pages. I hope readers love him as much as I do.
He falls desperately in love with his human target, a dedicated journalist and down-to-earth Texas gal, Sarah Jasmine White. While she’s dogged when it comes to her stories, she flounders when dealing with Rukh. What I love about her: she faces her fears, and chooses to be brave.
I hope THE DJINN’S DILEMMA is a keeper story.
Blurb: Rukh O’Shay, half-djinn and assassin, is used to taking out the bad guys. But his latest assignment, Texas Journalist Sarah White, is nothing like he expected. A glimpse of her bright aura reveals her gentle spirit, while her beauty makes him long for only one thing—to taste her.

Sarah shares the raw desire to connect with Rukh. He can turn her on with a glance, and satisfies needs she didn’t even know she had.
But Rukh had been hired to kill her—and the only way to save her is to find out who wants her dead before someone else finishes the job….
If you read THE DJINN’S DILEMMA, please let me know what you think. You can reach me at:
My Keeper Shelf includes: Tiger Eye by Marjorie M. Liu, Weddings Can Be Murder by Christie Craig, Savvy by Ingrid Law, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. What’s on your shelf?

Bio: Mina Khan is a Texas-based writer and food enthusiast. She daydreams of hunky paranormal heroes, magic, mayhem and mischief and writes them down as stories. Between stories, she teaches culinary classes and writes for her local newspaper. Other than that, she’s raising a family of two children, two cats, two dogs and a husband.
She grew up in Bangladesh on stories of djinns, ghosts and monsters. These childhood fancies now color her fiction.

Max gets a love…

on July 21, 2011

I’ve been a bit quiet lately…under deadline.  This is what happened:  When I was in New York, I talked to Caitlin about maybe writing an e-book novella for the Dark Protector series to be released between HUNTED (book 3) and book 4.  Now, we haven’t negotiated for books 4-6 yet, so I was being optimistic.  Early August is when we start talking the next deal.

Well…Caitlin talked to Megan, who liked the idea of a novella and would like to publish it in April, the month before HUNTED is released.  This is very exciting…but…Megan needs the novella by the end of August.  So, after several emails back and forth with Caitlin, I decided the novella should be about Max, who is Janie’s bodyguard.  He is in both FATED and CLAIMED, so seemed like a good choice.

Max is actually a rather funny guy, originally from Russia.  Yeah, who knew?  His love, Sarah Pringle, is a teacher who, ah, just escaped from a mental institution.  Really.

Anyway, this is why I’ve been away from the blog a bit.  I’ll do better.  🙂
