Let it Snow, Baby!

The Pacific NW is engulfed in a snow storm.  A very fluffy, persistent, kind of cool…snow storm.  When I arrived at work, I remembered to lift my windshield wipers.  Okay, I saw a bunch of other windshield wipers lifted…and then I remembered.  The thought occurred to me that those of you living in tropical places…you might not know to lift your wipers so they don’t freeze.  Now you know.

I worked all day and then came back out to see my car under tons of snow.  And you know what?  While I remembered to lift the wipers…I forgot to bring a snow scraper.  So today I used a file folder and a big ruler.  Hey, it worked.

Got home…and Big Tone had already let the puppies out.  They wanted back in…NOW.  The smaller one can be quite persistent when she wants.  (Also…tune in early next week because I’ll be giving away ARC’s of HUNTED.  Shhhh.  Don’t tell anyone.)

Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.  ~~Phillis Diller

  1. Well, I wouldn’t have known to lift the wishy washers (as I call them). Oooh HUNTED, can’t wait.

    1. Hi Bron! Wishy washers, huh? I like that. Maybe I’ll start a new trend here and we’ll all call them that from now on. I’ll give you credit. 🙂

    UGH. Snow.
I’ll stick to the desert. My mom told me it was negative 10 in MN this morning. YUCK.

Yay…HUNTED ARCS. How exciting! 🙂 Write on, my friend!

    1. Hi Lynn! Yikes! We haven’t hit below zero yet this year…and I think, fingers crossed, that we won’t. Hopefully. The desert sure sounds nice right now. 🙂

I live in Florida, so we don’t get snow – EVER and now I know about the windshield wipers 🙂 I do know how to prepare a house for a hurricane though. Stay warm and I’ll be keeping an eye out for any news.

    1. Hi Amanda! Well, I have no clue how to prepare for a hurricane. Together we make up a pretty prepared for anything duo, if you ask me! 🙂

I live in Ohio I didn’t know about the wipers. Good tip thanks. Loved the pictures. Very cute doggie. Can’t wait for the Hunted giveaway. Stay dry and warm.

    1. Yeah, the wiper trick really works. I’m excited for the Hunted giveaway, too. It’ll be my reward after sending book 4 to Kensington. You stay dry and warm, too. 🙂

Born and live in Southern California. Didn’t know about the wipers. Great info. I feel like a wimp because I have the heater on and it’s only about 55 outside. lol

    1. LOL! It was 24 degrees here the other day and I didn’t wear a coat. 🙂 I did have on a big sweater, though. Have a great one!

  6. LOL Rebecca! I too have been caught without the scraper a few times. One time I was in an evening gown using my credit card so I could go home after a formal event. It took a very long time and my little piece of plastic never worked in any stores after that.

    Cute, cute doggies!

    1. Hi Asa! I’ve tried the credit card trick before, too…but your hands get so cold because it’s so small! The doggies are a lot of fun…and they look so scary, but they’re not. 🙂

  7. I live in Portland – we were only teased with the snow… now it is raining buckets… I didn’t even get to lift the wiper blades or have the schools closed so we could sleep in!

I can’t wait for Hunted to come out…

ps There was enough snow for a few hours to play “catch the snowball’ with our German Shepherd – it is her very favorite game ever.

    1. I’m glad you got some snow! Though now I think we might have a bit too much. The world is a grey/white out there. I’ve visited Portland before and really liked it there. Have a great weekend!

  8. Oh, I miss the snow. I lived in Ohio for the past 5 years (I didn’t know about the wiper trick either) until this past Feb and am now back in Fl where it is hot (except the week before last it got down to 21 one night – woo hoo, I slept with the window open snuggling under blankets – and we’ve been down in the low 30s for a couple nights this week).

    Can’t wait for Hunted!

    1. Yeah, I love the snow. I really love it when I’m inside by a fire. 🙂 In fact, I wrote FATED when we were snowed in and that got this whole writing career snowballing. Haha. Pun. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

I am so looking forward to Hunted! Can you release it a little sooner?! DebbyD

    1. I wish! I think I turned it in last May. The cool part about that is when I did the copy edits and page proofs, it was a little like visiting old friends. I even forgot some of the cool stuff that happens in that book. 🙂 Also…I don’t have for sure release dates yet, but I think books 4 and 5 will be released MUCH sooner than the previous books. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

  10. The last few days we got hit with some snow as well…Not as bad as other years….

    1. I bet you’re inside writing, though! 🙂 Have a great weekend.

  11. You got snow… We are flooding down in the Corvallis/Albany area. Our back yard was flooded. Water all the way up to the house.
I so would have rather had snow then water. Snow is way more fun then flooding water..

    SO Can’t wait for HUNTED!!!!!

I am hating this snow….and I keep forgetting to do the wiper trick, so I usually get stuck leaving the car idle forever so the blades can melt. CD cases are usually my back up scraper. 🙂

We have been luck here in Central IL. The one big storm we had here so far, I was on the plane to Vegas right before it hit. Left the Kids to deal with the blowing snow and hight winds. Might have been cheaper if I had stayed home though because as they say “Vegas wasn’t built on winners-and I sure helped them build some more in Vegas! LOL

Love the puppies! Not a fan of snow and ice, though. 🙁
