Mercury Striking compJanuary 26, 2016 print and eBook release

With nothing but rumors to lead her, Lynn Harmony has trekked across a nightmare landscape to find one man—a mysterious, damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong. He’s more than muscle and firepower—and in post-plague L.A., he’s her only hope. As the one woman who could cure the disease, Lynn is the single most volatile—and vulnerable—creature in this new and ruthless world. But face to face with Jax Mercury…

Danger has never looked quite so delicious…

“Thrilling post-apocalyptic romance at its dark, sizzling best!” —Lara Adrian

Here’s a quick blurb:

Lynne swallowed and stepped back inside to shut the door.  Tears pricked her eyes.  How silly.  What the hell did she care about some crazy woman who didn’t like her?  Nobody liked her, and she’d always be alone.  She placed the soup on the table, no longer hungry.

Even her bones were exhausted, and sometimes she wondered why she hadn’t just died.  What had she done that was so terrible to have deserved this?  Her heart beat steadily, the small glow showing blue through her heart.

A tear fell.

Of course, Jax Mercury chose than minute to walk inside.

He paused, an ‘oh shit’ expression crossing his rugged face.  She would’ve laughed, but the struggle to step the tears was too hard.  A frown lowered his eyebrows, and he shut the door, placing several guns on top of the useless refrigerator.  “Did I hurt you that badly?” he asked.

She paused and waited until his words sank in. “No.”

He blinked and glanced around the apartment. “Stop crying.”

At the order, a loud sob erupted from her chest.

He stilled.  “Ah, what’s wrong?”

It was a simple question.  A nice question.  One a civilized person would ask.  The easy words ticked through her, and something exploded deep inside.  “Everything.”  She threw out her hands.  “Everybody hates me, the world is dying, and you fucking spanked me earlier.”  She doubled over as the emotional hurt overcame her.

“Well, hell.”  A second later she found herself lifted and cradled in very strong arms.  Jax held her against his hard chest, his mouth near her ear.  “Nobody hates you.”

“Yes, they do,” she hiccupped, crying harder, her body shaking.

He sighed and dropped onto the sofa, holding her closer, tucking her face into his neck.  “We fear things in direct proportion to our ignorance of them.”  His breath brushed her ear, and his size provided safety.

Now for the contest:

Answer the following question in the comments below.  I’ll draw five names, and those winners will get to choose whether they want an ebook of Wicked Ride or Wicked Edge.  Good luck!

Question:  If the apocalypse does come, are you prepared?  If so, how?  🙂

  1. Jennifer says:

    NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I’m not.

  2. Lori Meehan says:

No I’m not prepared at all.

  3. Sonia Forbus says:

No, i am not ready, especially if there are gonna be zombies, just shoot me now

  4. My family is armed and trained (1 perinatal nurse, 2 Paramedics (1 a cop the other homeland OEM). We have access to land in upstate NY with clean accessible water, local farmers and hunting. I’ve always enjoyed target shooting and as my kids reached their twelfth year I gave them shooting lessons. My grandkids are also learning skills from their parents and family on both sides (spousal familys).

I honestly think we’d survive. For what we don’t know but I think we’d be the last ones to turn out the lights and say “Goognight Mrs. Calibash Wherever You Are”.

  5. Carolyn Manning says:

Yes, my best friend (husband) and I raised two great children we adore and are very close to. As a family we can make it through anything.

  6. Brenda Hyde says:

I would die first in an apocalypse. I do have a lot of pantry ingredients and we have a generator that will run a couple things at a time, so that would help if we stayed put, but once travel ensues, I’m dead. LOL

  7. Amy P. says:

Am I prepared for a real apocalypse?

Uh, no. But I did get a pistol for Christmas that I’m a pretty decent shot with and I own a steel bat. I just need more ammo. My roommate, who happens to be a nurse, keeps our pantry pretty well stocked so we wouldn’t starve for a while and I can always fill every container and the tub with water just in case running water eventually disappears. Since we have gas we’d probably be able to stay warm longer than those with electric. But best of all I have a ton of books to mentally disappear from the craziness and SOME of them are even survival type books that I can read if need be: how to make soap, can food, knit, prepare for the end of the world, etc.

So in my house, I guess I’ll get to be the protection/muscle and my roommate can be the nutrition and health expert. Eek!

  8. Ronnie C says:

Got it today! Woo hoo! ?

  9. Doris Cooper says:

Yes. I’ve organized my things like I would go camping. I have food, water, guns, ammo, medical kit, sleeping bags, flashlights, batteries, camping stove, medical bag..you get the picture. I also scan Survivalist web pages to get list of things needed in case the SHTF.
No, I’m NOT crazy! I had just rather be prepared! 🙂 Pinterest has a lot of info.

  10. Ezinwanyi says:

No, I am not prepared but I do have water to last me a week. I may need to get a gun now that you mention it. Those zombies will need a bullet to the brain.

  11. Judy Contino says:

I have to honestly admit that I’m not, but I trust in God and hope for the best.

  12. miki says:

not at all.. i don’t even see how i could be in fact^^

  13. Jan Jackson says:

Yes, I’ve watched every episode of THE WALKING DEAD, LOL!

  14. Mary Preston says:

I am not prepared at all. I think I’d head over to my mothers. She has her emergency stores all set.

  15. Janet Rodman says:

Since we had a very bad hurricane, we have dry goods that can be cooked, candles, batteries and flashlights, propane and a grill, and of course plenty of water. I also have a stockpile of books I haven’t read yet, haha

  16. Ruth Gutscher says:

How would I stock up for a Zombie Apocalypse ?? I would stock up on guns and ammo,a small flamethrower and my family and friends would barricade ourselves in a Sam’s Club or Costco, whichever one that has no windows where there is plenty of food..canned goods and stuff to drink, and it is stocked with pretty much everything we would need and we would block off the doors … either that,or take all of our supplies and stay on an oil platform off the coast …

  17. Alexisa says:

I’m prepared,… I’ve stock pilled my book in paper and eBook form. 🙂

  18. Lori says:

No, I’m not prepared so I guess I’d die unless someone had mercy on me 🙂

  19. Rose Foster says:

No I not all the way prepared, But I do have plenty of groceries

  20. Inga S. says:

I am in no way ready to deal with the aftermath of a Zombie Apocalypse. Books and TV are great to pass the time, but I never participated in drills and such….

  21. Bernadette says:

Not at all! The longest that I think I could last would be two weeks and that’s being optimistic too! Sadly with the way my family and I consume food, we would most likely starve to death.
Congratulations on your new release! Thanks for the chance to win!

  22. BookLady says:

No, I’m not ready! But I do have plenty of canned food and a gas grill for cooking.

  23. I’m not ready either. I take care of an elderly parent and have to take things day by day. One can only hope that one of my neighbors is and we can go there.

  24. Teresa Travnichek says:

Probably not ready for that.. We do live in the country so that’s a plus as we could live off the land and would not have as many people as would be in a city.

Mercury Striking looks really good. 🙂

  25. My hubby, Eric, was an Army Airborne survival instructor when I met him 30 years ago. Lucky me he is still in great shape and ready to save me if the S&*T goes down!!!

  26. Lucky for me that my hubby, Eric was a U.S. Army Airborne survival instructor when I met him 30 years ago. He is in great shape at 50 and will save me if the SH&T goes down.
