Sometimes it’s the Little Things…

Sometimes it’s the little things that just make your day, you know?  I mean, I know there are really big things to be thankful for this season:  family, friends, health, etc…and I’m really thankful for those.  But today, as I got ready for work, the little things just made my day.  Here are five:

1)  Clean socks.  Yeah, I know.  But we’ve been busy lately, and finding a pair, the GOOD pair of comfy socks to wear beneath my boots today was awesome.

2)  A bagel.  Somehow, even though I haven’t had time to hit the grocery store, there were fresh bagels (pumpkin no less) in the pantry!

3)  The coffee pot was scheduled.  Yeah, this is a huge one for me.  I always forget to hit the on button before I go to bed.  It was on today!

4)  My phone was charged!  Like many people, I truly believe, I drop my phone in odd places all over the house and forget to charge it before heading to work the next day.  Today, it was right where it was supposed to be in the charger.

5) My gas tank was full.  I vaguely remember making a mental note coming home from work yesterday that I needed to get gas today.  But it was FULL!

Now, those of you much quicker than me are figuring out that these small blessings come from a really big one.  A six-foot-five, dark, very sexy Italian who I live with.  Big Tone hit the grocery store on his way home from work last night, folded the socks I’d left in the den, scheduled the coffee pot, found and charged my phone…and put gas in my car after taking our son to bball practice last night.  All without saying a word.

So…in this season of being thankful, I am SO THANKFUL for big Tone.  Everyone should have a sexy Italian in their house.  🙂

    Awesome!!!
These are great things to be thankful for.
I’m thankful that my sweet hubby made it through his Ironman race on Sunday safe and sound. I was worried. I’m thankful for my FIL being here with us since this is our first Thanksgiving without my MIL here. She died on October 24th, 2011, so this Holiday season is going to be a bit difficult, but I’m thankful he’s here with us!! I’m thankful for the sun. LOVE living in the desert. The sun just makes me smile. 🙂

GREAT post. Thanks for reminding us to be thankful for the little things!!

    1. I was thinking about your hubby – so glad he made it safely! I’ll be thinking of you during this season. 🙂

  2. WOW you do have a lot of man … uhnmm … things to be thankful for.
OK, say no more. Where can I get me “a six-foot-five, dark, very sexy Italian” who does all these kinds of wonderful things.? {grin} I need to tell Santa where to find me one.

    1. There are lots of small mining towns in the Pacific NW — that’s where you find these boys! 🙂

I have a sexy Italian at my house, too! The other day he surprised me with hard cider! I’m thankful for all the awesome books I get to read.

    1. We should have hats. 🙂

Awwwww! I’m about to meet my daughter’s new boyfriend. If he doesn’t measure up to Big Tone, I’m sending her to the Pacific Northwest!

    1. Send her Up! (Unless you like the boyfriend, of course). 🙂

You do have a winner, I think he just might out shine mine. Mine is not Italian but a tall Irishman. He has lived in Florida for almost two years now working but is on his way back home for a new job. Yeah! It will be awesome to have him back home to do all the little things that makes me thankful to have him as my husband. Like the cat liter box, car washed and to fill my gas tank. Got to love a man who has an addiction for Gas Stations and Car Washers. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Just finished “Claimed” the other day. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next one.

  6. Does Big Tone do house calls? My husband and I have been busy with work and are in the middle of a major kitchen remodeling. There’s no time for folding socks or filling up the gas tank. We need a visit from Big Tone! 🙂

I’m grateful that I have five days off from work and will get to spend time with my sexy Brit–if I can drag him away from his work.
