Random Thoughts…Daytime television

So, I spent my Christmas vacation sicker than a dog with bronchial pneumonia that took three rounds of antibiotics to kick. But, on a bright note, I got caught up on my daytime television. First I caught a marathon of the new show, Sister Wives. I’m confused. The people seem really nice and fully devout, but to be honest, I just didn’t get it.

Then a marathon of Monk caught my attention. I love Monk. I’d seen most of the shows already from prime time, but watching him is like visiting with an old friend. The episode where the city has a sanitation strike is hilarious.

Then, I have to admit, Dog the Bounty Hunter kept me entertained. Two big questions kept popping up in my head. First, how is it possible none of these guys has been shot? I mean, they scale fences with what look like guns (though I think they’re actually bean-bag guns) and look all scary and dangerous. I can see some frightened home owner taking aim in their own back yard before realizing it’s Dog. Which leads me to question number two. Why doesn’t Dog ever wear a shirt?

After a bit of Dog, I discovered the Chiller station holding a Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon. I like Buffy. The season where she’s with Riley was on. Riley was a hottie…a true, tough soldier with a heart of gold. The only thing wrong with Riley was that he wasn’t Angel. An insurmountable fact in the Buffy world.

Keeping in line with Joss Wheden’s world, I discovered a Firefly marathon on another new channel. If you haven’t seen Firefly, you’re missing out. It’s kind of a cowboy in space type of show. The series only lasted a season, but it should’ve continued. Nathan Fillian (now on Castle) played Captain Mal Reynolds in a role he was made for. Watch it. Honest.

Psych played quite a bit on and off through the week, and I have to admit, I love Sean and Gus. Great show-with fun humor. Perfect for a gal taking cough syrup with codeine.

Other than that, I slept most of the time. I’m all caught up now, so don’t need to watch daytime television for another year. Time to write.
